Powis Castle, Wales

The NTAB Committee has decided to go on with our great tradition of crossing the Channel for an annual trip to the UK.
The destination is the Cheshire and North Wales region, with Chester as the starting point for daily excursions.

We have found suitable accommodation on the outskirts of Chester and are now planning the itinerary for a 6 day/5 night trip, departing on Monday 9th June and returning on Saturday 14th.

  • Brussels Airlines will fly us direct to Manchester, leaving at 10 am.
  • A local coach will pick us up on arrival, for an afternoon visit en route from Manchester to Chester. We will arrive at the hotel for dinner at the end of the first day.
  • In Chester we will stay for 5 nights at the Holiday Inn-South (3*), from where we will make daily excursions in all directions, visiting National Trust properties and enjoying the countryside and towns of the region.
  • Planned visits: Lyme Hall, Dunham Massey, Powis Castle, Portmeirion, Bodnant Garden, Conwy, Plas Newydd House, Speke House, Chester & Liverpool highlights …
  • Maximum of 35 participants – priority for NTAB members – non-members may join subject to availability.
  • Expected price level: approximately € 1.350 per person sharing a double room – single supplement about €300.

A detailed information bulletin will follow shortly, with full details of the itinerary, travel conditions and a booking form.

  • If you’re interested in taking part, please raise your hand now. We now need to book a number of airline seats and double/single rooms and have an idea of approximately how many we need.
  • If you would prefer to travel independently and join us at Manchester airport or at our hotel in Chester, please let us know. (This means you do not need group flight tickets.)

You can confirm your participation later by paying a deposit when booking.
