One of the oldest cities in Belgium, Tournai houses UNESCO world heritage sites and historical buildings, such as the cathedral, the belfry and the splendid Cloth Hall on the Grand-Place. Clovis, the founder of the Merovingian dynasty of France, was born in Tournai.
