An introduction to Northern Ireland

and a virtual tour around the Ards Peninsula

by Carole Ducastel

The armchair virtual tour on a Sunday afternoon certainly made me want to visit the Emerald Isle again just as soon as Covid restrictions allow. And I would certainly want Lolly Spence (Hidden Ulster Tours) as the guide: such knowledge; such a pleasant delivery of her information; and such a capable guide.

Lolly put together a fascinating tour for our Association which whisked us away from our homes and out of lockdown isolation to the north of the Emerald Isle.

Mount Stewart

With well over 100 photos to illustrate the layers of Northern Ireland’s history she introduced us to the five major cities, six counties and the wonderful scenery before taking us on tour of the Ards Peninsula.

Packed with interesting facts, her script gave just enough information to keep us fascinated without dwelling too long on one subject. It was a tour that certainly highlighted little known facts and hidden places of interest.

A great experience. Thank you Lolly and thank you Johan for organizing it.
